G.E. and Mamie Duckwall built the home in 1925. He was the director of the Duckwall Stores Co., managing the local store for many years. G.E. was the State Chamber of Commerce director, director of the Famers National Bank, and served on the Board of the Abilene Cemetery Assoc., the Abilene Board of Education, the Abilene Library and the Chamber of Commerce.
