Built in 1885 as the home for Thomas Kirby, it was later remodeled and known as the Abilene Commercial Club. In 1987, it was restored to its original structure by Terry and Jerry Tietjens, who then opened the famous and fashionable Kirby House Restaurant. Unfortunately, it burned down in 2013.
